A Gokwe man was sentenced 25 years in prison after murdering his four-year old daughter using an axe in process of an argument with his wife
On the 19th of February 2025, Thomas Nyamadzawo the offender, returned home and had an argument with his wife over an undisclosed issue.
During the quarrel the offender armed himself with an axe and swung it at his wife instead, missed and struck his daughter who was in his wife’s arms.
The offender struck the now deceased once on the forehead before a certain individual intervened and disarmed him, pulling him out of the hut.
The mother of the deceased failed to get transport to take the injured child to a hospital and she succumbed to the injuries.
